Memento is a 2000 American neo-noir psychological thriller film written and directed by Christopher Nolan, and produced by Suzanne and Jennifer Todd.

The film’s script was based on a pitch by the director’s brother, Jonathan Nolan, who wrote the 2001 story “Memento Mori” from the concept.

Although filming a story out of sequence is not a unique concept, Momento is one of the best examples of a fractured timeline where the story is told out of sequence, reflecting the cognitive impairment of the main character who suffers a form of amnesia.
